GO!YA!

GO!YA! è un progetto nato per caso dall’incontro estremamente voluto di N.A.I.P. e Giulia Formica.
I due per anni si promettono di suonare insieme senza sapere bene cosa intendessero finché, con la scusa di un festival al quale era stata invitata Giulia per eseguire un assolo di batteria di mezz’ora, si unisce N.A.I.P. per ridurre drasticamente il minutaggio dell’assolo e provare a mettere su qualche sorta di brano. L’esperimento riesce alla grande, i due decidono di chiamarsi GO!YA! in onore al pittore spagnolo di cui condividono le orribili visioni oniriche e per via dell’energia che c’è nelle espressioni separate “GO!” e “YA!”, nel senso di andare, suonare, senza troppi fronzoli. I due decidono per il momento di non avere una casa discografica perché detestano la dittatura degli streaming e dei numeri, non fanno di questa scelta un manifesto, ma ad oggi la cosa certa è che la loro proposta musicale è fruibile unicamente live.

GO!YA! is a project born by chance from the extremely intentional meeting of N.A.I.P. and Giulia Formica.
The two for years promised each other to play together without really knowing what they meant until, under the guise of a festival to which Giulia had been invited to perform a half-hour drum solo, N.A.I.P. joins in to drastically reduce the solo’s minute length and try to put on some sort of song. The experiment succeeds big time, and the two decide to call themselves GO!YA! in honor of the Spanish painter whose horrifying dream visions they share and because of the energy in the separate expressions “GO!” and “YA!” in the sense of going, playing, without too much fuss. The two decide for the time being not to have a record label because they detest the dictatorship of streaming and numbers, they do not make this choice a manifesto, but to date the certain thing is that their musical proposal is only usable live.
